The DANGER of Dirty Makeup Brushes!

Dirty makeup brushes. Ew.
A lot of people love makeup. A lot of people wear it every day. But, a lot of people don't know how to properly clean their brushes. And MOST people don't know the dangers that are lurking inside of their dirty brushes!
Let's just say, dirty makeup brushes won't just clog your pores or irritate your skin. There's a possibility of contracting a staph infection. Pink eye. And bugs. Need I say more?
For starters: To properly sterilize your makeup brushes, you need to remove all of the product from them. To gently cleanse the brushes without damaging the bristles or hair, wash them with a professional brush cleaner. If you have baby shampoo on hand, this will work also. Repeat until the solution or water runs clear. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
Next, pour 99.9% Isopropyl Alcohol into a spray bottle. You most likely won't find this grade in your local pharmacy or convenient store, but I'll include a link to where it can be purchased. Then generously and thorougly spray each brush and let it sit for AT LEAST 10 seconds. DON'T SKIMP ON THE TIME or else you're just wasting your time. Leave them out to dry overnight.
Repeat this after every makeup application. Yes, every. And voilà !
Fun facts. According to Huffington Post, only 61% of women actually clean their brushes ONCE a month. Let's share this post to educate EVERYONE on the potential risks of dirty makeup brushes.
